Chicago craft beer leader sponsors Intelligentsia Cup series finale
Chicago, IL – June 25, 2015 – Goose Island Beer Company is the presenting sponsor for the final stop of the Intelligentsia Cup bicycle racing series, now known as the SRAM Chicago Criterium presented by Goose Island Beer Company on Sunday, July 26, 2015.
Founded in Chicago in 1988, Goose Island is a leader in the craft brewing industry and is a fervent supporter of bicycle racing around the Chicago area. The Goose Island brewery and newly opened tap room at 1800 W. Fulton Street are next-door neighbors to Intelligentsia’s roasting works, with both lining the home stretch of the SRAM Chicago Criterium course.
“We’re huge enthusiasts of the bicycling community in Chicago, in fact many of Goose Island’s employees bike to work every day,” said Ken Stout, GM of Goose Island. “Sponsoring SRAM Chicago Criterium is just another way for us to give back to a neighborhood that has given so much to us over the years.”
“The final race of our series is right on Goose Island’s doorstep and we are happy they are joining the party,” said series partner Tom Schuler. “What better way to culminate seven days of racing than with a tasty craft beer!”
As part of its sponsorship Goose Island will be pouring its beers in an expanded festival zone that will also include food trucks and an active lifestyle expo, enhancing the party atmosphere of the race.
