After 11 years of racing under our former name…we changed our name. But that’s really all that changed. We’re keeping the awesome courses you’ve come to love, the tight corners, adrenaline-filled race atmosphere, and epic block parties.
WHY CHICAGO GRIT?
After 10 years of racing under former name – Intelligentsia Cup – we wanted a new name that reflects the spirit of our riders who are badass and full-send, as well as the communities in which we are fortunate to race. We knew Chicago had to be in the name, and we liked the word Grit – because that’s what you need to race 10 days of full-send criteriums on technical courses.

This year we’ll have 10 races in 10 days, with a potential new course. Venues will remain the same as 2023.

We’re still the same thrilling 10-day criterium race series you know and love, with the same insane speeds, hairpin turns, and block-party vibes. Only now, we`re rocking a name that reflects the spirit of our race and riders (ie: you). Though we gotta admit - we love your guesses. They`ve given us a few ideas on how to make 2024 truly legendary 😉. Quick note: our website is up, but definitely still very much under construction (we just couldn`t wait to share the news). Every year we partner with @workingbikes to give away bikes and helmets to some pretty incredible kids. This is a major highlight for our team because we want more kids on bikes- ESPECIALLY those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to purchase a bike.
