- On June 11, 2021, the State of Illinois announced entering “Phase 5” of the state’s Covid reopening plan. https://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/phase-5
- The following guidelines will apply at the 2021 Intelligentsia Cup under Phase 5:
- Fully vaccinated persons are not required to wear face coverings or to maintain social distancing in outdoor settings. PLEASE GET VACCINATED IF YOU CAN!
- Unvaccinated persons should wear face coverings in crowded settings outdoors especially when youth are present.
- Persons who are immunocompromised should consider wearing face coverings in settings where others may not be fully vaccinated.
- Social distancing at such places as concessions/counters, public restrooms, and lines/queuing will be implemented.
- Participants:
- Unvaccinated racers are requested to wear a face covering at all times except when actually racing. (PLEASE GET VACCINATED IF YOU CAN!)
- Racers from outside of the US who have not been vaccinated with one of the following vaccines that are approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) are requested to wear a face covering at all times except when actually racing:
- Race procedures at the 2021 Intelligentsia Cup series:
- All staff and volunteers will be asked to sign the USA Cycling standard event waiver that contains an assumption of the risk for Covid-19. All bike racers will also sign this waiver.
- All rider registration will occur online.
- Prize purse payouts will occur on the last day of the series, or when a rider departs from the series. However, cash primes will be distributed daily.
- All questions and disputes about results will occur in a designated area separating the rider and the staff member or USA Cycling official. Only one rider at a time my dispute results.
- Stage procedures at the Intelligentsia Cup:
- Fully vaccinated persons may occupy the race stage without face coverings.
- Unvaccinated persons should wear face coverings on the stage for podiums or other reasons.
- Hand cleaning and toilets at the Intelligentsia Cup:
- Signage will be posted recommending frequent hand washing.
- Extra hand washing stations will be placed near toilets and food serving areas.
- Hand sanitizers will be place in busy areas and requested on the counters of all food vendors and food trucks.
- Toilets should be positioned, if possible, with extra room between each unit.
